Mission Statement
A Charles A Day features images of Mr. Charles Nelson Reilly from daily reruns broadcast of the 197o's-era television game show, Match Game by U.S. cable channel, The Game Show Network (originally on CBS). This site is in no way affiliated with The Game Show Network, CBS, or the estate of Charles Nelson Reilly; it exists solely as a celebration of, and salute to the timeless contributions of Mr. Reilly to 1970's popular culture via his appearances on said program. Far more than a TV game show legend, Mr. Reilly was also a Tony Award winning actor, and acclaimed director of Broadway productions, but this particular site intends to focus specifically on his years on Match Game, with slight variations possible from time to time.
Please note: there may also be intermittent commentary and analysis upon the subject of either Mr. Reilly, or Match Game in general itself, or meaningful nudges (aka "links"), gently guiding visitors towards related topics of discussion and/or audio-visual presentations with the intent of possibly enhancing your visit here. Depends on my mood and what beverages are in the house.
I hereby pledge to do my utmost to provide a small, yet satisfying parcel of Charles each day that I watch a Match Game rerun, which to be honest, is very nearly every day of my life. The believers understand; the uninitiated, set aside your skepticism and admonishments of a life wasted, and join us (whenever humanly possible) daily as we bask in the glory of all that is C. Nelson Reilly (1931-2007).
